We are seeking a committed, proactive person to support the work of the Library in the critical area of archival collections.  This is an opportunity for an experienced archivist to work on a significant collection of Landed Estate Archives from the collection of the Centre for the Study of Historic Irish Houses and Estates. The primary purpose of this post is to appraise and catalogue these archival collections to international standards.

Based in Special Collections and Archives, the archivist will work on the Landed Estate Archives and will report to the Assistant Librarian with Responsibility for Special Collections and Archives.  They will be expected to operate with minimal supervision and have the skills and knowledge to plan, manage and track their work to ensure that deadlines are met. They must be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, and be able to keep clear, consistent and accurate records of all activities undertaken.

Salary

Assistant Librarian II (2023):       €42,280 – €47,135 p.a. pro-rata (Points 1-3)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
