Position Summary

This project seeks to develop indicators and an integrated model for assessing the impact of land use on a range of environmental and wider socio-economic issues in Ireland. Additional tasks include a review of literature on land use, assessment indicators and existing policies. This is with the aim of understanding how land use policy in Ireland can be adapted to improve the environment, resource availability, food, fibre and fuel production, and wider socio-economic factors. The researcher will also assess current land use in Ireland relative to the recommendations of the Land Use Evidence Review and suggestions for additional data collection will be made.

This project is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency. The researcher will have opportunities to collaborate with researchers in Cork University Business School at UCC, the Environmental Research Institute at UCC, and Teagasc.

Post Duration: 12 months

Salary: Post-Doctoral Researcher: €42,781- €49,177 p.a. (IUA PD1 Salary Scale), Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher: €50,540- €54,966 p.a. (IUA PD2 Salary Scale)
