The Cognitive Development Center at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for a Research Assistant position.

The initial contract is for one year with the possibility of renewal.

The successful candidate will assist the center's researchers in planning and conducting experiments on healthy human infants at the Budapest Babylab and analyzing and publishing the collected data.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Welcome and accompany parents and caregivers during the Babylab visit and inform them about the experiments
  • Conduct studies in the Babylab and perform online research     
  • Collect and organize materials for research studies (consent forms, questionnaires, video recordings from the studies)
  • Prepare and create test stimuli and analyse and code data
  • Schedule studies, maintain contact with families, create and maintain the subject database
  • Coordinate research activities between Babylab and the kindergartens or other external sites

 

Qualifications

Successful applicants will have a BA or equivalent degree in any discipline. They will be required to be fluent in both English and Hungarian for oral and written communication as well. Applicants with (1) a degree in psychology, (2) experience with working with babies and children, or (3) familiarity with experimental methods in developmental psychology will be given advantage.
