Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Research Assistant (Several Posts) in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.:524521), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. 

The applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Gerontology, Psychology, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Statistics, or a related discipline with at least 1-year post-qualification experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3-years post qualification experience in related disciplines. Previous work experience in big data analysis and developing and managing territory-wide projects in collaboration with community partners, is highly desirable. Applicants with experience in research projects relating to family caregivers of older adults and/or cost effectiveness evaluation will be preferred. Knowledge of statistics and big data analysis, and interest in pursuing postgraduate study (M.Phil. or Ph.D.) would be advantageous. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Cantonese would be an advantage), familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and good interpersonal and organizational skills.

The appointees will conduct high-impact research related to family caregivers of older adults and manage territory-wide caregiver support project(s). The appointees will work in a multidisciplinary team with local and international experts to conduct research in relations to family caregivers of older adults and/or gerontechnology; The appointees will also have opportunities to earn publication authorships and receive other professional development support.
