Offer Description

Specifically, it aims to deliver the first systematic high-cadence optical polarization monitoring of blazars, and the first systematic optical polarization follow-up of tidal disruption events (TDE). The project will be using a large amount of telescope time for the new 1-m class telescope at the Skinakas Observatory to be commission in 2024.

Within the framework of BOOTES, the technician will be providing support of the research and telescope infrastructure of the Skinakas Observatory, and in particular preparatory work for the installation of the RoboPol polarimeter at the new telescope, as well as parallel support for the Skinakas Observatory infrastructure during the observing season.
