The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) in Munich is the largest digital scientific library in Europe and a central facility of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science. It supports scientists in currently 84 institutes and research centres in Germany and abroad.

The MPDL Digital Labs division supports the Max Planck Institutes with innovative tools for scientists, contemporary infrastructures, and information on new services. The mission of Digital Labs is to ensure a constant pipeline of new technologies to provide innovative and sustainable services for all Max Planck researchers. Contributing to the requirements of the constantly evolving scientific work environment, Digital Labs implements novel and sustainable tools for scientists within the MPG by evolving new ideas and technologies.

We are looking for a Student Assistant (f/m/d) for the MPDL Digital Labs. In our international, highly motivated team, you will work on the expansion of our blockchain infrastructure , as well as the development of centralised and decentralised applications for science.


Your tasks
  • Support in the conceptualisation and implementation of smart contracts
  • Integration of new authority nodes into our existing PoA blockchain (bloxberg.org)
  • Technical support for our project partners (international research institutions)
  • Support in the development and implementation of apps and dApps
  • You implement the integration of further services into the existing CICD infrastructure

Your profile
  • Started university studies in IT
  • Experience in Implementing Smart Contracts in Solidity
  • Programming experience, for example in: Solidity, JavaScript, Python, Rust, GO
  • Knowledge of technologies and frameworks, for example: Docker, Node.js, Vue.js, Angular, Reactjs, React Native, Flutter, TensorFlow, Django , Database
  • Fun at work and curiosity about new topics
