Our team »KI-unterstütze Simulation« combines physically based simulation approaches with efficient and advanced mathematical algorithms and AI frameworks for modeling and optimizing power electronic components and systems.

What you will do

  • Development, implementation and adaption of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs, Operator Networks, stacked / Multi-fidelity PINNs) for engineering problems arising from lithography and semiconductor simulation
  • Scientific work from basic research to prototypes - methodological development of PINNs, investigation of convergence and accuracy compared to numerical solvers, specification and integration of measurement data in data-calibrated PINN approaches, transfer to software solutions.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams of physicists, engineers, computer scientists and mathematicians
  • Development of problem-specific PINN architectures and training algorithms
  • Coordination of research projects with external institutions
  • Writing and publishing of scientific papers
  • Presenting research results at conferences

What you bring to the table

  • A university degree or doctorate in computer science physics, mathematics or a related STEM field
  • Very good knowledge of current NN architectures, Physics-Informed Neural Networks and the basics of differential equations and their mathematical solution
  • Good knowledge of modeling physical processes and systems and in the application areas of optics or semiconductor processes
  • Confidence and strong communication skills, as well as a fundamental interest in current research topics

The position is initially limited to two years.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
