Student research assistant (m/f/d) field experiments

We are looking for a student assistant within the DFG-funded "cropT" project to assist with field work. The two-year field experiment includes two temperature and water level treatments. Objective: To improve understanding of plant growth under drought and heat stress through correct attribution of the influences of air, plant, and soil temperatures on plant growth and development.

We are offering a 4-6 month time limited contract starting in April for 60-80 h/Monat supporting our experiment in Dedelow, Brandenburg as a

Student research assistant (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

  • assistance in data collection in the field (LAI, manual measurements of plant and soil temperature, phenological observations, field notes, etc.)
  • assistance in the installation and dismantling of field sensors and fieldwork
  • support in verifying collected data
  • assistance in the daily maintenance of sensors

Your qualifications:

  • reliable and interested in (agro-)ecological research
  • ideally experience in fieldwork and/or with Rstudio
  • willingness to work in the field, at times under variable weather conditions
  • ideally possession of a driver's license
  • good German language skills in both speaking and writing, English also advantageous
  • ongoing master's studies in a relevant field (geoecology, ecology, environmental sciences, agricultural sciences, physics, remote sensing, etc.)
