What you will do

  • Build up expertise on EtherCat and other related industrial protocols

  • Design and optimization of optical wireless systems, including lens design

  • Setup of prototypes and test environments for the experiments

  • Participation in the experiment with optical wireless communication devices and evaluation of experimental results

  • Simulation of wireless link performance characteristics using MATLAB and Python

What you bring to the table

  • Full-time student at a German university preferably in the field of electrical engineering, computer engineering, communications engineering or physics with good to very good grades

  • First experience with measurement equipment

  • Basic understanding of wireless communication system and protocols

  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB and Python toolbox

  • Proactivity and interest in scientific work

  • Good communication skills (German/English) and team spirit

  • Hands-on laboratory experience is desirable

The position is initially limited to 6 months. An extension is expressly desired.

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
