The Institute of Medicinal Chemistry headed by Prof. Dr. Oliver Plettenburg is located at the Leibniz University of Hannover as a satellite branch of the Helmholtz Munich.
The institute is focussed on providing chemical compound tools to explain mechanisms of disease pathogenesis and to identify and optimize innovative substances. We are looking to employ at the earliest opportunity a scientific researcher (f/m/x) in 50% part-time.

Your tasks
- Establishing a project to identify new drug candidates or chemical probes
- Designing and conducting organic-chemical experiments
- Purification and characterization of newly created compounds
- Analysis of biological data to establish quantitative structure-activity relationships
- Presentation of the research results achieved
- Writing of scientific publications
Your profile
- Appropriate university studies (Master Degree, Diplom) in organic, medicinal chemistry or related
- Broad method spectrum in modern preparative organic chemistry
- First experience in medicinal chemistry and biochemical or cell biological work methods
- Good working knowledge of the German language and fluent English
- Strong communication and a commitment to teamwork are expected; You should be comfortable working with colleagues in an interdisciplinary and international setting.
- We expect high motivation, organizational skills, flexibility and creativity.
