For a research project on the harmonics of motets in the 13th century, the Institute of Musicology is looking for a research assistant (75%) for the duration of 3 years.

YOUR TASKS

  • You will develop the tools required the corpus analysis of music.
  • You will cooperate with staff members specializing in music theory/music history.
  • You will work with existing analysis tools and file formats (MusicXML, MEI).
  • You publish the research results as part of a team, often in a leading role.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have a university degree in Digital Humanities or in musicology / music theory with a significant proportion of computational musicology.
  • If you have not already studied musicology, you should have an affinity for music and be familiar with musical notation.
  • You have a scientific interest in the computer-aided processing of historical / cultural data

The position is available from 15 October 2024 on a part-time basis (29,87 hours per week). The contract is to be filled for a fixed term until 14 Ocober 2027. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
