Research Associate / Postdoc - Development of novel contact layers for silicon photovoltaics

Your Job:

  • Coordination of scientific cooperation with European partners
  • Coordination of scientific project work at the subinstitute
  • Preparation of project reports and writing of publications
  • Further development of processes for plasma-assisted, chemical vapor deposition of zinc oxide layers on industrially relevant silicon wafers
  • Further development of processes for hot-wire deposition of silicon carbide layers on industrially relevant silicon wafers
  • Characterization of the deposited layers with regard to their optical and electrical properties
  • Characterization and analysis of silicon heterojunction solar cells
  • Scientific supervision of students

Your Profile:

  • Successfully completed scientific master’s degree and PhD in electrical engineering, physics, materials science or comparable field of study
  • Experience in material processing and analytics
  • Experience in working with vacuum systems desirable
  • Very experienced in writing scientific publications
  • Ability to work independently
  • Enjoy developing new processes
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good knowledge of English

We offer you a limited position until 30.04.27. Salary and social benefits will conform to the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund), pay group EG 13, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and the precise nature of the tasks assigned to them.
