to be filled. Starting date is as soon as possible. The position is limited to three years with the possibility of extension for a further three years and offers the opportunity for habilitation.

About us:
As a research-oriented division of the Department of Animal Science, we work primarily on sustainable, consumer-oriented and socially acceptable ways for the production of food of animal origin. The focus is on nutritional, sensory and technological quality assessment using instrumental and sensory methods through to consumer tests. We have modern laboratories for the physico-chemical characterization of food, including HPLC, GC-FID and GC-MS, texture analysis, infrared spectroscopy and microscopy, hyperspectral imaging and a modern sensory laboratory. Current research issues include, for example, the preservation of genetic diversity in farm animals, the use of alternative feedstuffs to avoid food competition and the improvement of animal welfare during husbandry and slaughter.

Your range of activities typically includes the implementation of research ideas in project proposals, participation in/management of third-party funded projects, conception and implementation of courses in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, (co-)supervision of Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral students, as well as participation in the committees of the university's self-administration.

Ideally, your strengths are curiosity, commitment and implementation skills, i.e. you are able to develop solutions and implement them effectively. You are characterized by a quick grasp as well as a hands-on mentality; you work conscientiously and responsibly. You communicate convincingly and inspire people inside and outside the team to work with you.

Recruitment requirements are a relevant degree with very good or good results, e.g. in agricultural or food sciences, food chemistry or similar, a doctorate with very good or good results with a recognizable connection to food quality, food chemistry or food analysis (the required degrees must be available at the latest at the time of recruitment), good to very good written and spoken English skills.

Desirable qualifications are: Knowledge of methods in the field of (food) analysis (especially chromatography and/or infrared spectroscopy) or food sensor technology, (initial) experience in university teaching and the supervision of theses, good command of German (B2), confident use of common Office software, ability and willingness to perform statistical data evaluations and initial experience in project management.
