The Department of Law at the UNIVERSITY OF BREMEN has a vacancy as of 01.08.2024 in the working group "Civil Law, Commercial and Corporate Law" of Prof. Dr. Patrick C. Leyens

a position as a
Research Assistant (f/m/d)
(EG 13 TV-L, 19.6 hours per week)
for the duration of 3 years.

The applicable time limit for academic qualification is regulated by § 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Accordingly, your application can be considered if you still have the corresponding number of qualification periods in accordance with Section 2 (1) WissZeitVG.

Your tasks:

  • Independent research in connection with a doctorate for one third of the working time;
  • academic services in research amounting to one third of working hours;
  • academic services in teaching (in German) and teaching preparation to the extent of one third of the working time, in particular

o supervision of study groups (2 SWS);
o preparation of teaching materials.

Your qualifications:

  • First state examination in law or comparable university degree, with above-average results;
  • Academic interest in civil law, commercial and corporate law;
  • Ability to carry out independent and thorough academic work;
  • Organizational and communication skills as well as very good oral and written communication skills in German;
  • Good knowledge of English is an advantage.
