to be filled by 01.10.2025.
The professorship is expected to represent the field of English Literary Studies from the 18th to the 21st century in research and teaching. Expertise in literary theory is expected, as well as two distinct historical foci in the time period stated above, with one focus in the 18th or 19th century. International research collaborations and a commitment to international student exchange are crucial requirements for the professorship.
Responsibilities include teaching in all relevant degree courses (BA Englisch, MA English Literatures, Master of Education, MA European Literatures) and involvement in academic governance. Active participation in the further expansion of the Department’s teaching and research profile and a willingness to engage in intra- and interdisciplinary networking within the Faculty, including new third-party funding initiatives, are expected.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz`.
