Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) International Institutions

As a foundation under public law and with more than 90 employees in research, administration, and science communication, the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt is one of the most influential institutions for peace and conflict research in Germany. To bolster the team in our Research Department II “International Institutions,” we are seeking to employ as soon as possible:

full-time, in Salary Group 13 TV-H*,

initially for a duration of three years (acc. to WissZeitVG), position could be made permanent.**

Your responsibilities include:

• Research (development and implementation of projects) in the field of European and transatlantic security structures and -policies (NATO, EU, OSZE);
• Participation in publications and the obtaining of external funds of the Research Department as well as participation in science communication events;
• Coaching and supporting younger colleagues.

As applicant, you should fulfill the following requirements:

• A very good doctoral degree (“Sehr gut” acc. to the German grading system) in political science, sociology or another relevant discipline;
• A proven scientific focus on European/ transatlantic security;
• Experience in obtaining external funds;
• An international profile attained through publications and field research/ research stays;
• Proven experience in quantitative and/or qualitative social-science methods;
• Willingness and ability to further PRIF’s research agenda;
• Ability to work interdisciplinarily;
• Willingness to present research to the political and general public;
• Willingness to participate in PRIF’s self-governance. The language spoken in PRIF’s central committees is English;
• Good spoken and written command of English.
