Offer Description

The Institute of Molecular Medicine and Experimental Immunology (IMMEI) at the Medical Faculty Campus of Bonn University Clinic invites applications for a

Postdoctoral position in Immunology (TVL13/100%)

on “metaflammation-induced reprogramming of liver regeneration”. This project focuses on liver-resident macrophages (Kupffer Cells, KCs) - key players in liver regeneration. Depletion of KCs has shown to suppress liver regeneration and increase mortality. We aim to identify the cellular and molecular mechanisms induced by metaflammation, leading to the transcriptional reprogramming of hepatic macrophages and their precursors. We investigate how these changes alter KC reconstitution, resulting in functional dysregulation during liver regeneration after acute liver injury or surgical resection.
