PostDoc in Human Nutrition (m/f/d)

The German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke (DIfE)  is a member of the Leibniz Association. The institute’s mission is to conduct experimental and clinical research in the field of nutrition and health, with the aim of understanding the molecular basis of nutrition-dependent diseases, and of developing new strategies for treatment and prevention.

We invite applications for the newly founded Department of Molecular Metabolism and Precision Nutrition (MMPN) for

starting on January 1st, 2025.

We are looking for a person with expertise in human nutritional intervention studies to conduct projects on the hormonal and molecular mechanisms of metabolic regulation by nutrition, their role in the pathogenesis of obesity and diabetes and aspects of precision nutrition.

Your tasks:

• Planning and conducting of human nutrition intervention studies in the field of obesity and diabetes research as well as precision nutrition
• Conducting of related lab experiments and measurements
• Preparation of ethics and data protection applications
• Support in the development and implementation of nutrition strategies
• Statistical analysis of collected data and preparation of publications
• Presentation of the results at national and international conferences
• Supervision of doctoral thesis in medicine and natural science
• Independent application for the third-party funding

Your profile:

• Excellent master and doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, nutritional sciences or another biological/medical field
• Expertise in human nutritional intervention studies and nutritional data analysis
• Experience in cell culture and molecular biology laboratory work
• Experience in statistical data analysis with R, Python or similar software preferred
• High motivation, flexibility and willingness for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Fluent English skills, fluent knowledge of German preferred
