We are looking for an outstanding and highly motivated postdoctoral (i.e., recently or soon-to-be PhD graduate) researcher to join our Environmental Robotics team at MIRMI under the supervision of Prof. Sami Haddadin. Your work will extend our existing work on mobile robotic systems for environmental monitoring and protection. You are expected to develop your own scientific ideas/concepts within the framework of the research group objectives. We will provide all guidance and support for writing papers and will submit to our focus conferences IEEE ICRA & IROS, and corresponding journals. Key Responsibilities ● Designofalgorithms that connect aerial, ground, aquatic robots such that each domain can effectively contribute its strengths to the team to enable efficient monitoring missions. ● Developmentofamulti-domain framework for autonomous and semi-autonomous navigation ● DevelopmentofaRemoteSatellite Lab and its digital twin simulation ● Conceiving experimental setups for real-time field tests of autonomous robots. ● Outdoormissions at Bavarian lakes and international offshore locations. ● Activesupport in teaching activities at the Master's and/or Bachelor’s level courses. ● Supervision of Master and Bachelor students. Your Skills: ● PhD.orM.Sc.withbackground in robotics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field. ● Knowledgeinthearea of mobile manipulation and control of autonomous vehicles. ● Hands-onexperience with developing autonomous and mobile robotic systems, working with both their hardware and software. ● Strongprogramming skills in C++ or python, and proficiency in ROS. ● VerygoodcommandoftheEnglish language & good command in German. ● Stronganalytical skill, pro-active interpersonal, and communication skills. ● Highmotivation and willingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.
