Your Job:

We are looking for a person who is responsible for coordinating the activities "Co-operations within and outside DAPHNE4NFDI" and "Information dissemination and public relations" and has the following tasks:

  • Contact person for and close coordination with the participating scientific groups
  • Responsibility, planning, organisation of networking and further education events (e.g. lecture series)
  • Presentation of the project at thematic workshops/conferences, user meetings of large-scale equipment and to potential partners
  • Organisation of workshops on the management of data from X-ray and neutron experiments
  • Preparation of press releases and public presentations, also together with the project partners
  • Visibility of the project website and social media presence
  • Coordination of the development of curricula in the fields of physics and chemistry
  • Networking with other initiatives in physics, chemistry, mathematics and materials science
  • Develop scientific software for the data analysis inside the DAPHNE Program
  • Conduct and disseminate world-class research via publications and conferences

Your Profile:

  • You have a university degree (diploma/university/master`s degree) in a natural science or engineering discipline; preferably with a doctorate
  • A strong background in experimental condensed matter research
  • You are enthusiastic about data, digitisation, neutron and photon scattering
  • You have knowledge of synchrotron/neutron research and magnetism, quantum phenomena etc. or experience in the areas of scientific data management and software development
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
  • Initiative character, creativity, good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, result orientation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a teamplayer in JCNS

You will be initially employed for a fixed term of 2 years with the possibility of extension. Salary and social security benefits will conform to the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund), pay group 13, depending on your current qualifications and the precise nature of the tasks assigned to you.
