Our group studies how biodiversity dynamics at different spatial and temporal scales arise from the management of agricultural landscapes and influence the provision and stability of ecosystem services in farmland (see https://www.uni-giessen.de/en/faculties/f08/departments/tsz/animal-ecol… ). Our work is largely motivated by the need to combine biodiversity conservation with crop production in landscapes under global change. To address our research objectives, we use methods ranging from field ecology, chemical and molecular ecology, to statistical and process-based modelling. Our offer to you:
• Collaboration in a young, dynamic and strongly international research group as well as with excellent international and interdisciplinary research groups
• A varied job with flexible working hours
• Free use of local public transport (LandesTicket Hessen)
• More than 100 training seminars, workshops and e-learning opportunities per year for personal development, as well as a wide range of health and sports activities.
• Remuneration according to TV-H, company pension scheme, child allowance and special payments
• Good compatibility of family and career (certificate "audit familiengerechte Hochschule")

Specific Requirements

• Knowledge of and interest in issues relating to the conservation of arthropod diversity and their functions and services in agricultural landscapes
• Skills in ecological field work, especially in entomology
• Experience and/or interest in chemical ecology, insect and plant identification, GIS and statistical data analysis is an advantage
