  • Model optimization for embedded systems (quantization, pruning, compression etc.)
  • New training and optimization on embedded systems (quantization-conscious training, hardware accelerators with INT8 and/or mixed-precision computing capability)
  • Federated Learning (privacy-preserving use case from image processing in a fleet of several end devices)
  • AI and Functional Safety (proving absence of systematic errors in an application, esp. after quantization etc.)
  • Developing and utilizing external networks towards academia, industry and policy makers
  • Monitoring execution of subsidy projects in close co-operation with involved businesses and competence centers until successful audit and closure

Your team

The work is performed in the AI Competence Center (AICC) of NXP at the Central Technology Office (CTO), embedded in NXP's global AI-activities. The AICC is the partner of business lines to identify, develop, benchmark, and enable disruptive Edge AI solutions on NXP-systems. You will be part of an exciting community that works on state-of-the-art technology and beyond.

Exciting successful projects that have been run at NXP in the context of Edge AI are Software- and Hardware-Aware Neural Architecture Search (NAS), Mixed-Precision Quantization in the context of NAS, machine learning protection by model watermarking, and others.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

  • M.Sc. University degree with a focus on Edge AI/ML
  • Solid project management and monitoring understanding
  • An open and positive attitude with demonstrated community building skills
  • High sense of initiative and responsibility
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Software engineering: good skills in lower-level (C/C++, ...) and higher-level (Python, ...)
  • Good skills any AI-related tools/technologies such as tensorflow, pytorch, scipy, AWS, etc.
  • Solid background in optimization techniques such as neural architecture search, quantization, pruning, etc. and the corresponding peculiarities such as proper search space design, evaluation metrics design etc.
