Offer Description

Tasks

The person recruited will be responsible for the development, implementation and dissemination of new bioinformatics tools and databases, developed with the laboratory's researchers. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining and updating them, as well as existing tools (database, website). Several of these tools are interfaced and cross-referenced with international databases, and therefore require regular updating (e.g., https://remap.univ-amu.fr/ , http://moondb.hb.univ-amu.fr/ ).

Main activities

- Develop, organize and structure “omics” databases, web tools and software, in conjunction with researchers.

- Maintain bioinformatics tools and databases previously developed in the laboratory

- Update biological data contained in databases

- Implement “FAIR” (Easy to Find, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) practices for bioinformatics projects

- Communicate results at internal meetings, and write and update documentation associated with the tools and databases developed.

Job specificity(ies) and environment

The agent will work in collaboration with TAGC researchers and teacher-researchers developing bioinformatics methods and tools.


Specific Requirements

- Proficiency in Python, Bash or R programming languages and other bioinformatics tools

- Expertise in tools dedicated to pipeline development (Snakemake)

- Proficiency in NGS processing tools

- Knowledge of web environments based on MVC models (e.g. Django)

- Ability to develop web applications based on R Shiny.

- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment (biological, genomic, informatics)

- French reading, writing and speaking, B2 level.

- English reading, writing and speaking, B2 level.

Benefits

- Working hours: Full time- Number of hours per week: 38h and 30mn-

- Annual leave and RTT: 45 days (32 working days and 13 RTT days).

- Salary: According to the salary scale corresponding to the recruiting body, a seniority recovery according to the level of experience and an indemnity scheme corresponding to the occupied function. Indicative average gross monthly salary : €2,510*  (allowance for duties, hardship and expertise)

File examination : Inserm examines the administrative admissibility of the application and sends reminders to candidates whose applications are incomplete. At the end of this first stage, the Institute publishes the decisions of candidates admitted to the competition and those admitted subject to the completion of their files.

Eligibility
A panel examines the application file prepared by each candidate, including a list of diplomas, qualifications and work experience.
Admission
Admission consists of an audition in front of a panel, including a presentation of the candidate's background and motivations, and an interview with the panel.
