Offer Description
nternationally recognized generalist engineering school of the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), leading French engineering school (Technological University), IMT Atlantique aims to support transitions, train responsible engineers, and use scientific excellence to serve teaching, research, and innovation.

The Department of Automation, Production, and Computer Science (DAPI) at IMT Atlantique is based on the Nantes campus. It comprises about a hundred individuals, including around forty permanent faculty members. The research and training themes of the department include Control, Robotics, Industrial Engineering, Decision Support, and Software Engineering. The department is part of the LS2N (Digital Sciences Laboratory of Nantes, UMR CNRS 6004) of which IMT Atlantique is one of the supervisory bodies.

This Postdoctoral contract is part of the POMPIER project funded by ANR, with the objective of contributing to the improvement of production plans' robustness through the integration of new tools and approaches. One of the areas of study is prescriptive maintenance.

The objective is to develop a knowledge model of the problem through three subsystems (physical, logical, and decision-making) and their interactions, and then to translate it into one or more action models that may combine several techniques such as an optimization engine coupled with a digital twin for performance evaluation.

MISSIONS

Under the responsibility of David Lemoine and in collaboration with other members of the ANR Pompier project consortium, the missions are outlined as follows:

  • Develop the knowledge model for the joint planning problem of maintenance and planning according to the production workshops chosen by the consortium.
  • Develop and programthe action models based on the previous knowledge model.
  • ACTIVITIES:

    1. Develop the knowledge model for the joint planning problem of maintenance and planning according to the production workshops chosen by the consortium :

Build a knowledge model integrating sub-models of knowledge on:

    • Tactical production planning
    • Types of production workshops that may be addressed during the project
    • Envisaged maintenance policies and the operational decision rules they induce.
    • Also, define the links between these sub-models to ensure their integration within the resulting action models.

    2. Develop and program the action models based on the previous knowledge model.

    • Based on the previous knowledge model, the action model will be divided into two major interacting structures :
    • A decision model based on integrating a production planning model derived from the corresponding knowledge sub-model, and solving the considered scheduling/maintenance problems.
    • A digital twin of the different workshops integrating the operational decision rules related to the type of maintenance considered, allowing the evaluation of the performance of the solutions proposed by the decision model.

The action model, especially considering scheduling and maintenance operational rules, will be iteratively enriched by other project packages. This action model will allow the development of a standard results model that will be shared among the various project stakeholders.
