Offer Description
work environment: The successful applicant will join EuroMov Digital Health in Motion, a research, technology, and innovation hub from University of Montpellier and IMT Mines Ales committed to the study of normal and pathological movements.  EuroMov facilities include (i) large technological platforms with various motion capture, neurophysiology and virtual reality research equipment, (ii) a research laboratory in which the activity of the candidate will be performed (currently 130 persons), (iii) an incubation and R&D innovation site. EuroMov is located in the north of Montpellier (Occitanie region), in a dense nexus of research centres, hospitals and academic institutions (https://dhm.euromov.eu ).
main mission: The successful candidate will integrate an existing European project – SHARESPACE (https://sharespace.eu ) - which aims at creating new opportunities for human-centric, safe, rewarding, and inclusive social interaction in  hybrid spaces (VR and XR). SHARESPACE’s radically new and unobtrusive technology enables intuitive and intelligent interactions between humans and avatars, through the modelling of embodied social behaviour in mixed-reality environments. Our functional multimodal-multisensory “social broadcasting” interface, combined with new knowledge and technology, will have a strong positive effect on future usages, enabling smooth, fun and transparent interaction with AI-agents.

activities: The successful applicant will contribute to the project’s experimental program on embodied social interaction in virtual reality, consisting of laboratory-based and health-oriented behavioural experiments with human participants and AI-driven artificial agents. Main activities include preparing and conducting experiments, modelling and analysing data, disseminating results in conferences and journals, as well as participating in the various project’s meetings.
