Offer Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and focused individual to join ABTE (EA4651), laboratory ToxEMAC, Caen, France, for post-doctoral studies under supervision of Professor Siamak Haghdoost and Dr. Carine Laurent, University of Caen Normandie, France within radiobiology work package of the HARMONIC project. The European project HARMONIC is funded by the European Union within the framework of the Horizon 2020.
Description
The successful applicant will utilize state-of-the-art approaches aimed at obtaining a fundamental molecular understanding of mechanisms of exposure to radiation for pediatric radiotherapy purpose and find biomarkers of individual radio-sensitivity for personalized radiotherapy. The project will be focused on the effect of proton and photon radiotherapy in pediatric oncology patients as well as pediatric patients undergo cardiac fluoroscopy. Analyses will be performed on blood, saliva and cell samples from patients as well as on in vitro irradiated cells. The approaches will be used in the study include translational, transcriptional response and gene regulation.
The responsability of the applicant include carrying out research projects, supervising students and joining different scientific activities in the laboratory.

Requirements
The applicant must hold a doctoral degree from any country in Europe or an equivalent degree from other country. The applicant must have received a doctoral degree from an accredited college/university in the field of cell biology, biochemistry, radiobiology or molecular biology/genetics. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in radiobiology. Work experiences; in molecular biology laboratory, with methods for detection of protein and oxidative stress biomarkers in plasma, saliva and cells as well as previous experiences in supervising students are of advantages. Good English language skills, both written and spoken, are of important.
