Join the Laboratoire Cultures Education Sociétés (LACES ) – of the University of Bordeaux!

 

LACES was created in 2007 and restructured in 2014. Its plurisdisciplinary dimension remains visible at the level of research fields and scientists represented: Sciences of education, Sciences and techniques of physical and sports activities, Languages and cultures.

 

As part of the project funded by Horizon Europe, « UNDETERRED » (Unintentional discrimination detected and racism reveal and Deactivate) coordinated by the University of Bordeaux, we are recruiting a post-doctoral fellow in the humanities and social sciences.

 

The UNDETERRED project aims to strengthen the fight against racial, ethnic and religious inequalities experienced by the younger generation of some immigrants.

Main activities :

 

The objective of this research program is to analyze the mechanisms of involuntary discrimination faced by young people aged 18 to 35 in the areas of housing, health, employment and education.

As part of the Work Package 2 of the project «Detection of systemic discrimination», your activities are divided into several axes:

 

# Sruveys

• Participate in the definition of the research protocol, the formalization of the interview guides and the design of the focus-groups in close collaboration with the scientific coordinator and the WP2 manager in the Post Education sector secondary and health or employment.
• Conduct the qualitative survey local project (Bordeaux)
• Participate in the activities of the research group and the Project Committees

 

# Analyse and dissemination of the results

• Cooperate with partner institutions/organizations – University of Bordeaux, Bergonié Institute or CCI
• Contribute to a typology of systemic discrimination processes
• Participate in the dissemination of scientific results in close collaboration with the scientific coordinator and the WP4 leader

PhD or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

Holder of a PhD in Human and Social Sciences (ex: in Sociology, Ethnology, STAPS), you have ideally already worked on discriminated populations or minorities.

• You are able to implement multidisciplinary approaches (particularly theoretical of ethnicity and/or vulnerabilities)

• Excellent writing skills including English in a European work environment (level C1)

• You are proficient in social science collection and survey tools and analytical skills

• You ideally know one or more foreign languages (Arabic appreciated)
