Université de technologie de Compiègne recruits a project manager for Marie Skłodowska Curie Action (MSCA) entitled EPOG-DN, in the COSTECH research unit in interaction with the research direction.

The Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) project EPOG-DN (Economic Policies for the Global bifurcation – doctoral network) is a project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program.

It involves academic, governmental and intergovernmental institutions, local authorities, NGOs, financial and non-financial corporations. It will start on March 1, 2024 and will recruit, train and accompany 11 doctoral candidates on the economic issues of the ecological transition, from a multidisciplinary perspective. An economist and a non-economist will jointly supervise each PhD candidate. Doctoral candidates will have a mobility in their research and secondment to a non-academic partner. The training will include collective activities and activities tailored to individual needs, which will cover methodological issues and encourage discussions with stakeholders from different fields and sectors.

This project is coordinated by the Université de technologie de Compiègne (UTC) for a period of 4 years.

Experience

Professional experience in the field of coordination or management of international and European projects (internships included) of 3 years is welcome. Knowledge of the collaborative projects of the European Union Research Framework Program would be greatly appreciated.

37 hours and 30 minutes/week - 1,607 hours/year

Mission

- Supporting the coordinator and managing the EPOG-DN project;

- Provide administrative guidance (finance, logistics, partnership...) in a multi-site environment.

Main Activities

Manage the administrative, financial and logistical aspects of the project

- Ensure compliance with MSCA program rules;

- To act as a single desk for the actors involved (European Commission, partners, associate partners, students and candidates, external institutions): answering questions, providing regular information and ensuring the effectiveness of the external communication system;

- Jointly-drafting and ensuring compliance with contracts and amendments (in agreement with the relevant services of the UTC) signed with partners (consortium agreement, joint and multiple diplomas...), associated partners (bilateral agreements), the European Commission (framework agreement, grant agreement...), students and non-fellows (student contracts) and other potential partners (notably bank and insurance for students);

- Set up and follow the various administrative and financial procedures, in cooperation with the Direction for Financial Affairs, the Accounting Agency, the Research Direction and the Human Resources Direction: doctoral contracts, organization of training and events, payments to partner universities, monitoring of the consortium’s budget (of EUR 3 million over 4 years), monitoring of the UTC’s own budget, organization of missions and orders;

- Reporting to the European Commission (progress report and annual activity and financial reports) under the supervision of the European Partnerships Officer of the Research Directorate;

- Establish a procedure for obtaining visas in partnership with the consular services and the European Commission delegations in the countries concerned.

 

Support the coordinator and the project team

 

1/ Ensure the coordination and the facilitation of the consortium in agreement with the project coordinator

- Ensuring coordination between partners;

- Organizing meetings and drafting minutes;

- Coordinating the internal and external evaluation process;

- Coordinating the organization of workshops and conferences;

- Contributing to the organization of the application and selection process for PhD students

 

2/ Helping to the management of the communication

- Defining and implement an international communication strategy;

- Establishing common exchange and dissemination tools (newsletters, social networks, etc.);

- Updating the web page regularly;

- Facilitating social networks and the newsletter;

- Raising awareness and inform the services of French partners about the program;

 

Contribution to the EPOG ecosystem activities

The EPOG-DN project is a spin-off of an Erasmus Mundus master’s project (EPOG+ - www.epog.eu ). If the position is primarily related to the EPOG-DN project, it is also expected to be a team work, with the two people who take care of the master. There will be some joint tasks for both projects. In general, knowledge of the two projects is expected within the team: certain tasks associated with the master’s degree may be requested from the person recruited (as well as the master’s team may intervene in support of the work to be carried out in the framework of the EPOG-DN project). This capacity is also intended to ensure continuity of administrative work for tasks strictly necessary for the smooth running of programs, during periods of holidays.

More generally, the person recruited may be involved in the development of projects associated with the master's degree.

Work Environment and context

The EPOG-DN project manager (Marie Skłodowska Curie (MSCA)) will be a member of the research unit COSTECH with interaction with the Research Direction and will be placed with the EPOG-DN project coordinator.

The manager will work in a multi-site environment, in close collaboration with the members of the master cell, the research management, the contact persons of the support services and the correspondents with the partners and associated partners. He/ She will strongly interact very regularly with the project partners (Europe and outside Europe), the institutional partners and more generally with the teacher-researchers and students.

For the geographical location of the activity, a weekly base of 5 days is planned, mainly in Paris, but the person may have to travel to Compiègne (approximately 1 hour from the Gare du Nord) or on mission abroad, depending on the projects. A partial payment of the costs of transport from home to work is possible, subject to conditions.

Mobility in consortium meetings is expected: at least 2 missions per year of several days (in France or abroad) as well as one-off missions.
