Trainee for the International Affairs team

The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master’s programme.  

We are looking for a trainee for the International Affairs team.  

You will primarily be working with tasks related to the University of Helsinki’s Africa Programme and Una Europa, an alliance comprising 11 European universities.

Main tasks of the trainee:  

  • For Una Europa , you will focus on the "My Una Story" format, which aims to collect experiences from staff and students engaged in Una Europa activities. Your role will entail conceptualizing the format, conducting relevant interviews, and writing news stories based on these interviews.  
  • With the University of Helsinki’s Africa Program your tasks include mapping relevant activities and information, as well as stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Additionally, you may be involved in other communication and event management tasks.

Who we are looking for

A trainee with a proactive way of working, good organizing, communication, and teamwork skills. We expect you to have fluency in spoken and written English. Other language skills are an asset. Good digital skills are required and an interest in improving them.  Experience in communications is an advantage.

The duration of a traineeship is 1 September to 31 December 2024 (four months) of part-time (50%) work, leaving time for studies as well. The salary of a trainee is €700 per month for a part-time (50%) trainee.
