Are you interested in working with and developing services for international degree students? We are looking for two part-time

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADVISORS

to help and support international basic degree students of the University of Helsinki.

What tasks are waiting for you?

The Student Advisors are part of the Admission and Student Advice team. The Student Advisors' tasks include being the first point of contact at the Kaisa House Customer Service Desk and advising international students on matters such as settling in Helsinki and at the University, registration with the authorities, tuition fees and scholarships, and services offered by the University of Helsinki. Additionally, you will advise students by e-mail and will publish online instructions for students and staff. You will also manage tuition fees and take care of other administrative tasks. Your work will be partly independent, and you will have the opportunity to develop the services together with a team of student advisors and planning officers.

You will work in the central services at the City Center Campus and help students from all campuses. You might however work also on other campuses at the beginning of the autumn term. Some of your work may be done remotely. Your closest colleagues will be the Planning Officer for International Affairs and other Student Advisors.

You will work part-time (25%, 9h 6min /week) during the period of 20.5. - 31.12.2024.

What we are looking for

You have personal, first-hand experience in settling to study in Finland from abroad. Currently, you are studying as a bachelor’s or master’s degree student at the University of Helsinki. You are precise, proactive and motivated by possibilities to help others and develop services in a customer and solution focused way. You have excellent written and spoken English. Previous experience in customer service and university administration is a plus.

The gross monthly salary will be approximately 655 € - 665 €, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience.

Teaching and Learning Services

Teaching and Learning Services of the University of Helsinki provides supports for students and degree programmes. Together with teachers, we create a well-functioning learning environment for our students. We are a unit of roughly 350 professionals in several separate service entities. We are responsible for the University’s educational planning, student and career guidance, educational technology, admissions services, mobility services for students and staff, the Student Register, counselling psychologist services, academic administration and support for Swedish-language education. In addition, we are involved in preparing and coordinating strategic decision-making related to university education.
