The Faculty of Information Technology  is seeking in the field of Information Systems Science

Doctoral Researcher 

Starting April 1, 2024 (or as agreed) until March 31, 2028

Tasks and qualifications

We are looking for a Doctoral Researcher to conduct qualitative and exploratory research on sustainable ICT services and systems. The focus is on their value-creation mechanisms in business ecosystems, especially on the service provision and acquisition. The doctoral research is expected to conduct research and complete courses for a doctoral degree in information systems science.   

We expect you to have

-MSc degree in an applicable scientific field (information systems, software engineering, business administration, economics)

-experience in qualitative research methods (ground theory, case study, interviews, interpretive research methods) or information systems and related service acquisition/provision is preferable.

-good communication skills in English are needed, working knowledge in Finnish is a benefit.

-Interest in studying and completing a doctoral degree in the Faculty of Information Technology is required.

Having at least one publication in any field is considered an asset. The position is however suitable for a beginner doctoral researcher.

The duties, qualification requirements, and language skills of doctoral researchers are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations, the Rector's decision on personnel matters, and language skills guidelines.  The MSc degree must have been completed before starting the position. The study right for a postgraduate degree required in the position is applied for from the Faculty of Information Technology after selection unless the applicant already has one.

Salary

The salary of a doctoral researcher will be determined in accordance with the Finnish University Salary System. A trial period of six months will be used at the beginning of the employment.
