Duties and responsibilities
- Coordinating research and teaching in the field of Artificial Intelligence, ensuring the availability of future Estonian-language academic staff in the field.
- Popularizing the field of Artificial Intelligence.
- Conduct research on Artificial Intelligence.
- Successful application for new research grants, management, and implementation of research and development projects.
- Developing the capacity for industrial collaborations and seeking and participating in collaborations.
- Teaching attractive advanced courses in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
- Supervising Master's and PhD students.
- Participation in the work of academic and administrative decision-making bodies.
Required qualifications
PhD or an equivalent qualification.
Required experience
- Previous work experience as a professor, associate professor, research professor or senior research fellow or in an equivalent position in foreign countries.
- Ability to organize teaching and teach at all levels of higher education in the area of specialization.
- Previous teaching experience at least at the first two levels of higher education, incl. effective supervision of Master's and PhD students.
- Internationally recognized professional research in the field of Artificial Intelligence, demonstrated by a track record of publications at top Artificial Intelligence venues. The total volume of publications is equivalent to at least three doctoral theses.
- Ongoing active engagement in research: internationally recognized research in the last five years at least in the volume equivalent to that of 1.5 doctoral theses.
- Success in applying for research funding as well as managing and performing R&D contracts in the last five years.
- Participation in working groups or expert councils related to the promotion and implementation of the specialization at the international level.
Required language skills
Excellent command of English required; Estonian recommended.

Competitive salary packages of 100-130K p.a. minus all national taxes (ca 41% total) is foreseen, dependent on qualification and experience.
