If so, consider joining the SmartSens project as a development engineer and potential co-founder on an exciting entrepreneurial journey. SmartSens, a DTU technology project with a plan to spin out in 2025, is built upon patent-pending and highly innovative sensor technology originating from DTU Chemical Engineering and DTU Nanolab. We are looking for an Electronics Engineer who can develop our sensor technology and design great products around it for our future customers. The job
You will be actively contributing to the design and enhancement of our prototypes and products. Your role will be pivotal in the entire product development process, from prototyping to delivering tangible solutions to our customers and iterating based on their valuable feedback. The tasks include:

  • Design and develop prototypes of sensor technologies based on early-stage technology
  • Seek feedback from end-users to identify areas for improvement
  • Iterate on designs based on testing results and feedback
  • Provide insights into the technical aspects of sensor technology to ensure alignment with user requirements
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes to ensure they meet performance, reliability, and quality standards
  • Incorporate industry regulations and standards related to sensor technologies

Our expectations of you

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • Hands on experience in end-to-end development of electronic products, ensuring a seamless integration of both hardware and embedded software to deliver an exceptional user experience
  • Experience with prototyping and innovation
  • Experience with software development is an advantage
  • Work with experimental and testing setups in the laboratory
  • Bioprocess experience is an advantage
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication skills in English

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as a development engineer. 
The expected start date is 1 April 2024. The period of employment is 1 year.

The PROSYS research center performs research in the field of process systems engineering and AI/machine learning and their application for the life sciences industries. The research aims to advance computer-aided methods for the design, scale-up and optimization of processes and systems for life sciences, bio/pharma, biotech and water industries.
