Responsibilities

  • Drive pioneering research in crafting advanced materials aimed at next-gen minimally invasive biomechanical sensors and bioelectronics, with a keen focus on improving device functionality, user experience, and seamless integration with wearable technologies.
  • Actively pursue and secure funding through grants, industry collaborations, and strategic partnerships, aiming to foster interdisciplinary initiatives that propel the field of material science in bioelectronics and wearable tech forward.
  • Develop and teach courses in material science, emphasizing biomechanical sensors and bioelectronics.
  • Mentor students at all levels, guiding their research projects, and fostering a dynamic learning environment. Supervise PhD and master’s candidates, encouraging innovative thinking and research excellence.
  • Establish collaborations with other academic institutions, healthcare providers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Publish high-impact research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present work at national and international conferences.

Required Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Material Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with a specialization in bioelectronics, wearable technology, or biomechanical sensors.
  • A proven track record of research achievements in the field of advanced materials for bioelectronics or wearable devices, as evidenced by publications, patents, and presentations.
  • Experience in teaching and developing courses related to material science and bioelectronics, with a passion for educating the next generation of scientists and engineers.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and lead collaborative projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Expertise in the integration of sensors with wearable technology for health monitoring applications.
  • Experience with translational research and commercialization of biomedical devices.

You must contribute to teaching at the Department. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as a researcher or postdoc. To be appointed as a senior researcher, you must have completed a didactic/pedagogic education. If you do not have the necessary education, then it is possible to complete this requirement within a period of two years of appointment.

Salary and terms of employment 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
