Research Consultant – DTU Health Tech

Job Description

With an interest in target discovery and drug development for osteoarthritis 
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled scientist to join our dynamic team working on an exciting osteoarthritis research project.
The job
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting animal experiments, performing in vitro screenings, and working with primary cell cultures from rat joints. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of novel osteoarthritis therapies and mature the project towards commercialization.
Key responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct animal studies to investigate the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis and evaluate potential therapeutic interventions.
  • Perform in vitro screenings of compounds using primary cell cultures derived from rat joints, including chondrocytes and synoviocytes.
  • Analyse data from animal models and in vitro experiments, utilizing various biochemical, molecular, and cell biology techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance research projects and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical guidelines for animal research. 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in biology, biomedicine, veterinary science, or a related field.
  • Strong background in animal handling, preferably with experience in rodent models of disease.
  • Proficient in in vitro techniques, including cell culture, PCR, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
  • Familiarity with osteoarthritis pathology and experience working with joint tissues are highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced research environment.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC).
