Research Assistant in Molecular & Reproductive Toxicology - DTU Food
Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark
Job Description

We are a dynamic research group studying how developmental exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals can cause diseases. We focus mainly on reproductive disorders and effects on the brain from thyroid hormone disruption. Our research approaches spans from in vitro cell assays to in vivo toxicity studies using a broad array of methods. We also provide expert advice to national and international agencies on potential harmful effects caused by chemical exposures. With our many tasks, we are seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the role of research assistant across projects. For this position, it will involve both laboratory work and desk work related to our advisory tasks. If you enjoy working in a larger team and can handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your responsibilities will be to carry out laboratory experiments as well as desk work related to chemical advisory tasks in support of senior scientists and consultants.  Laboratory work may involve methods such as qPCR, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, in vitro assays, assisting with animal experiments, histopathological examinations etc. Other tasks may involve literature searches, reliability evaluations, data extractions etc. Exact methods will depend on running projects and coordination with the rest of the team. Some laboratory experience is desirable, but most important is the ability to learn new techniques and a drive to create results.

As a formal qualification, you must have a master’s degree in engineering or science, or equivalent.
