Research Assistant in Data Collection for Human Health Impact Assessments - DTU Food

Job Description

Are you interested in dietary risk factors and how it affect our health? Are you systematic and good at working independently, but also enjoy to be part of an ambitious and collaborating team? Then you might be our new research assistant

You will be part of the Research Group for Risk-Benefit at The National Food Institute at The Technical University of Denmark. We offer an ambitious, dynamic and sociable research environment with lots of exciting challenges and opportunities.

Responsibilities and qualifications
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for data collection and handling in relation to human health impact assessments. The work will involve:

  • Conducting systematic reviews
  • Data extraction in relation to prevalence, incidence, mortality
  • Writing scientific reports
  • Reviewing and summarizing scientific opinions
  • Identification and handling of data in relation to health-based risk-benefit assessments
  • Extracting detailed information from human observation and animal studies
  • Contributing to applications for externally funded projects

We expect that you have a background in life science, health promotion, human nutrition, or equivalent.

The candidate we seek:

  • has practical experience with human health impact assessments
  • has practical experience with conducting systematic reviews and data extraction
  • has knowledge within health-based risk-benefit assessments
  • is ambitious and capable of working independently
  • takes responsibility for progress and quality of results
  • thrives on multidisciplinary collaboration
  • speaks and writes English and masters the Danish language in speech 

As a formal qualification, you must have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Salary and terms of employment 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. 

The period of employment is 9 months. Starting date is 1. May 2024 (or as soon hereafter). The position is a full-time position.

The Research Group for Risk-Benefit performs quantitative health impact assessment of foods and dietary patterns, develops new and improved methods of performing risk-benefit assessments, and estimates the burden of disease.
