Postdoctoral Fellowships in Experimental Quantum Matter

Updated: over 1 year ago
Deadline: 02 Oct 2022

The Center for Quantum Devices at the Niels Bohr Institut, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen is seeking one or more postdoctoral fellows to investigate 1D and 2D arrays of semiconductor-superconductor Josephson junctions formed in a variety of lattices to explore novel states and dynamics, including topological matter and flat bands, starting from 1 December 2022 as soon as possible thereafter.

The work is at the border of quantum simulation and quantum matter, and takes advantage of novel epitaxial hybrid materials. Candidates should have a PhD in condensed matter experimental physics, mesoscopic electron transport, or experimental solid-state quantum information science.

Scientific writing and communication will be in English.

It is a fixed-term position of 2 years duration with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.
The University and The Center for Quantum Devices wishes our staff to reflect the diversity of society and thus welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of personal background.

The Center for Quantum Devices is a research center comprising materials research, experimental solid-state physics, quantum nanoelectronics, and condensed matter theory. The Center provides a vibrant scientific environment with cutting-edge research performed across many different groups spread across condensed matter and superconducting qubit experiments with close ties to a strong theory department as well as longstanding collaborations with industry.
