Offer Description

The Cancer Structural Biology group, headed by Dr. Elena Papaleo, is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher to join the Danish Cancer Institute (DCI) and the Center of Excellence in Autophagy, Recycling and Disease (CARD).

We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and high-profile international research environment. The laboratories are equipped with modern interior and state-of-the-art technology, located in a pleasant and beautiful area near central Copenhagen. Our research facilities include several core facilities, including a high-end microscopy and animal facility, as well as histology and bioinformatics. You will join a dynamic working atmosphere with weekly seminars, invited speakers, a young researcher association, as well as strong administrative and technical support.

We offer a 1-year position: 37 hours a week with lunchbreak included. The contract can be renewed after the evaluation of the activities in the first year. A competitive salary with a range of benefits will be provided according to the current agreements between the Danish Cancer Society and the relevant trade union. Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.

  • PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology or equivalent
  • Master's degree in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology
  • Research experience in an internationally renowned research centre
  • Excellent technical skills and strong experience with molecular, biochemical and cell biology-based techniques
  • Experience with surface plasmon resonance will be an advantage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • High level of motivation, commitment and creativity
  • Team-work oriented attitude
