This two-year position involves process simulation and integration of a carbon capture process using solid adsorbents. The aim is to reduce energy consumption during the desorption phase through simulation, integration, and optimization. Additionally, the project will explore optimal methods for storing and transporting the captured CO2 .
Competences of the ideal applicant:
- PhD degree in chemical engineering, energy engineering, or a related field
- Experience with process simulation, integration, techno-economic analysis(TEA), and optimization
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysys, or EES
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
- Highly motivated with the ability to work across disciplines
- Capability to work in a structured, systematic manner while maintaining a high degree of independence
- Integrative and cooperative personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English, both written and oral

Qualification requirements:
Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
