Scientific innovation in national and EU projects spanning cross-sectoral domains
Your overall mission is to contribute to pioneer a transformative EU ecosystem to foster digital innovation and facilitate interoperable seamless digital transformation across sectors. As such, you will contribute to building a vital pillar for Europe’s future scientific creativity and innovation. 
You will be involved in various national and EU projects spanning cross-sectoral domains like energy, mobility, climate change, and more. You will unfold your good skills and knowledge as part of the Dynamical Systems Section. We perform research within a broad range of areas within dynamical systems including modeling, optimization, forecasting, and controlling in both deterministic and stochastic systems.
To succeed, you must actively contribute to nurture an environment of mutual trust, dedicated collaboration and sharing of insights and advancements within the research community. 
Your responsibility will include:  

Software design and development 

  • Contribute to the creation and development of digital twins across diverse sectors, leveraging data, cloud, edge computing, and connectivity technologies in cross-sectorial projects.

 Innovative integration 

  • Research and integrate new methods and technologies to merge existing tools and models into ongoing projects, enhancing their efficiency and applicability.

 Domain expertise 

  • Apply essential domain knowledge within smart cities and communities, including energy, mobility, manufacturing, health, food, and climate change.

Software engineering research 

  • Utilize research expertise in software engineering, focusing on software architecture, Continuum Computing (Edge, Fog, cloud, and Cooperative computing), or database systems.

Project management 

  • Manage projects at national and EU levels, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with broader project goals.

Smart city domain knowledge or software engineering experience
We are looking for you that have the ability to work independently and deliver within agreed deadlines while at the same time showing team spirit and motivation for succeeding together as a team. Your creative and innovative mind we take for granted your choice of career taken into consideration. 
Additionally, your resume must comprise:  

  • A PhD or equivalent 
  • Extensive smart city domain knowledge or software engineering experience, with an emphasis on the computational aspects of design and technology integration 
  • Research experience in one of the aforementioned fields of research
  • Experience with Digital Twin and big data pipelines

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is for two years.
