Job Description

We are looking for a skilled postdoc for our carbon capture group. CO2 capture and Power-to-X will play important roles in the green energy transition.
As postdoc at DTU Chemical Engineering, you will support the development of these technologies. Specifically, we are working on projects where a high temperature heat pump will increase the efficiency of thermal carbon capture. We study and develop the next generation carbon capture, and work together with national and international project partners.
We are currently developing a world-leading research group in gas cleaning technologies. The scientific field of gas cleaning, especially CO2 capture, is growing, and we expect this to continue for many years to come. Our fields of research include fundamental measurements of chemical properties, laboratory experiments, thermodynamic modelling of electrolytes and pilot plant operation.
Responsibilities and qualifications
As postdoc, you will support tasks in several different projects. You will work with a team of PhD-students, laboratory technicians, associate professors and project managers at DTU. Furthermore, the projects have significant industrial participation and you will often participate in meetings with industrial project partners.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervision of BEng/BSc/MSc students
  • Support of PhD students
  • Thermodynamic modelling of carbon capture solvents
  • Testing of advanced solvents
  • Write scientific publications
  • Apply for funding both nationally and internationally

We expect you to have:

  • Good understanding of the Danish/European visions and strategies within the green transition
  • Exceptional communication skills, to be able to communicate the vision of the projects to both researchers, CEOs, the public and funding agencies.
  • The possibility to self-activate, working independently
  • An out-spoken character
  • Strong modelling background
  • An open and direct communication, asking straight questions, giving straight answers
  • The ability to work both alone and in teams
  • Are available to start early summer 2024

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
