The Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark seeks outstanding candidates to fill faculty positions at the associate professor level in the research and teaching area of theoretical condensed-matter physics, quantum optics, and nano-scale light-matter interactions. The positions are at the Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense within the recently DNRF-granted Center for Polariton-driven Light-Matter Interactions (POLIMA) and they are available from January 2023.
Successful candidates are expected to conduct cutting-edge theoretical research in the area of condensed-matter physics and quantum optics, including the exploration of light-matter interactions in nanophotonic systems.
The application material should include a detailed motivation and an outline of the research activities that are to be pursued. In their applications, applicants should highlight their ten most significant journal publications, detailing also their author contributions. Applicants who wish to be considered should provide a link to a fully updated ResearcherID (www.researcherid.com ). The application material should also include an account on supervision experience and a teaching portfolio, including documentation that the applicant has successfully completed a lecturer training program.
The successful candidates will have a strong international profile, a strong record of research publications, and have demonstrated exceptional potential to excel in scientific research.
We expect the applicants to actively engage in the development of the hosting research unit and the applicant should as well, with high academic integrity, contribute to the academic research and educational environment as a whole. Applicants are kindly requested to list their preferences for positions mainly focused on either theoretical condensed-matter physics or theoretical quantum optics.
