The Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center invites applications for a full time academic employee for a fixed 4-year employment. The position is from 15th June 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.



Job description

We are hiring an experienced academic employee to join an interdisciplinary research team. You will be actively engaged in research activities, including the support and maintenance of atomic force microscopy facilities and operation of a focused ion beam-scanning electron microscope.
Your tasks also include the management of several EU consortia, where you will handle the coordination of meetings, reporting to EU, and other management tasks.

Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic academic  with a PhD degree in nanoscience, biophysics, or related and several years of relevant experience.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Strong documented background in scanning probe microscopy, especially atomic force microscopy and scanning ion-conductance microscopy.

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching courses within a nano program and providing training for facility users.

  • Expertise with FIB-SEM lamellae preparation and experience with transmission electron microscopy characterisation.

  • Experience with EU project management, including the preparation of grant agreements and amendments, negotiation of consortia agreements, and reporting in SyGMa.



Who we are

iNANO, Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (www.inano.dk ), was established in 2002 and at present is a major research and education center based at Aarhus University hosting 60 senior scientists, ~100 postdocs and ~160 PhD students. The center combines expertise from the disciplines including physics, chemistry, molecular biology and medicine to carry out world class interdisciplinary research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. The center gives access to a broad range of infrastructure, tools and expertise.
