Dean of Faculty of Economics VSB – Technical University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for a post of

Postdoc (researcher) for Economics and Business

The position is suitable for both women and men.

We will accept incoming Ph.D. holders who have obtained their Ph.D. abroad, of non-Czech nationality, who are not residents of the Czech Republic or have not spent more than 12 months in the Czech Republic in the last 36 months,

or

Ph.D. holders of Czech nationality who have long-term experience abroad. Long-term foreign experience can be considered to be at least 12 continuous months out of the last 36 months, either in the form of doctoral studies abroad or in the form of employment at a foreign scientific institution, or in combination.

Candidate must be no more than 5 years post PhD (career breaks e.g. maternity/parental leave; long-term illness are not counted).

This is a two-round selection process in which successful candidates from the faculty selection process advance to the next round at the university-wide level.

Required expertise:

Empirical analysis in the field of economics and business with articles published in high quality WoS journals.

Activity description:

• Study and evaluation of phenomena in economics, finance, business, or related fields.
• Advanced empirical analysis.
• Active participation in the internal meetings and active presentation of achieved results.
• Writing and publishing scientific papers.

Full time equivalent:                                                    full-time employment

Type of job contract:                                                     fixed-term employment

Expected start of employment:                                1. 9. 2024 or as agreed

We require:

• Ph.D. in economics or econometrics.
• Advanced skills in quantitative analysis.
• Scientific creativity and team spirit.
• Ability to conduct research independently.
• Experience in publishing in WoS journals.
• Active participation in internal meetings.
• Producing high quality scientific publications.
