Dean of the Faculty of Social Studies, University of Ostrava announces staff selection procedure to fill the academic position:

  • Assistant Professor of Law at the Department of Social Work

Type of allocated position:

  • Assistant Professor

Expected start date:

  • 2 September, 2024

Estimated workload:          

  • 50-100% (by agreement)

Employment contract:

  • fixed term

Job description:

  • Guarantor and lecturer of law courses in Bachelor’s and Follow-up Master’s degree programmes in the field of social work and health and social care
  • Supervisor and second reader of university qualification theses
  • Member of the state final examination committees in Bachelor’s and Follow-up Master’s degree programmes
  • Leadership and participation in research projects
  • Publishing output in the field
  • Active involvement in international cooperation
  • Involvement in organisation of research and teaching activities and departmental operations

Qualification requirements:

  • University degree in law
  • Academic degree of PhD in law
  • Active research and publishing activities in the field, focus on social and health-social topics is an advantage

The Faculty Dean reserves the right to invite only selected candidates to a personal meeting and at the same time the right not to select any candidate. The Dean may also cancel or repeat the selection procedure.
