Offer Description

The position of Assistant Professor in the Division of Cognitive Sciences involves teaching in the subject areas of cognitive neuroscience, cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, biological psychology, Open Science and current issues in the (Cognitive and Psychological) sciences and the programming of experiments at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level, general research method and ethics, and (co)mentoring students working on their Master's and doctoral theses. The candidate should have prior involvement in the development and teaching of interdisciplinary courses and should show high motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team and openness to collaborate on research projects uniting psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy. Additionally, the candidate is expected to have research expertise in neuroimaging methods (EEG, fMRI) and experience in scientific coding (Matlab, Python) to be able to teach students to analyze neuroimaging data. Active engagement in field-specific research in cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology is also expected. The candidate should also have a track record of collaborations on funded research grants.

Candidates must meet the requirements of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Narodne novine n. 119/22) and other legal acts that are based on it and are required to enclose evidence of this.

Candidates must also satisfy the additional requirements as outlined in the Decision of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia about the Criteria for Approving Positions of Returning Scientists in Public Universities and Public Research Institutes in the Republic of Croatia.

  • a copy of the PhD degree certificate,
  • a report on previous scientific, teaching and professional activities with evidence,
  • a list of publications,
  • copies of the relevant publications.

    Candidates who have obtained a higher education degree outside Croatia are required to submit evidence of the degree’s recognition (or of an application for its recognition) issued by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education.
