Offer Description

Professor Li Fang's research group of Tongji University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar position. Professor Li Fang's research group has long been engaged in research on gynecological tumor immune microenvironment and carcinogenic mechanisms related to high-risk HPV integration. The laboratory relies on the Translational Medicine Research Center of Dongfang Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University with advanced equipments and sufficient scientific research funds necessary for the completion of national research projects. Our institute is dedicated to revealing the immune microenvironment and new immunotherapy targets of cervical cancer through single-cell, spatial transcriptome and third-generation transcriptome technologies and has published more than 40 academic papers in Nucleic Acids Research, J Exp Clin Cancer Res, EMBOL J and other journals.

We welcome candidates of all nationalities. East Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University is a large tertiary class A general hospital. The department of Gynecology, cervical diseases and gynecological tumors are set up in the department of obstetrics and gynecology. The annual outpatient volume is more than 100,000, and more than 1,000 patients with precancerous lesions/cervical cancer are diagnosed and treated every year, which can ensure the maintainance of clinical sample library necessary for national scientific research projects. Our institute relies on the key laboratory of the Ministry of Education in Dongfang Hospital affiliated to Tongji University, Dongfang Translational Medicine Research Center and other scientific research institutions, the total area of 6000 square meters, the total value of scientific research equipment exceeds 100 million yuan, with advanced equipments necessary for the completion of national scientific research projects. The main instruments and equipment related to the completion of this project include: (1) biological detection technology equipment: cell culture room, cell culture ultra-clean table, high-speed freezing centrifuge, ultra-low temperature refrigerator, automatic enzyme marker, etc.; (2) Molecular biology equipment: PCR instrument, Real-Time PCR instrument, nucleic acid quantifier, DNA sequencer and gene analyzer, two-dimensional electrophoresis instrument, protein electrophoresis and gene analyzer, double laser flow cytometer, etc. (3) Experimental imaging equipment: Leica laser confocal microscope, small animal CT, small animal ultrasound instrument, etc. (4) Animal experiments: The School of Medicine of Tongji University has an SPF experimental animal center, which can provide qualified experimental animals; (5) An advanced sequencing platform has also been built, which includes multi-platform single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptome sequencing instruments. Our research group has researchers in bioinformation analysis, molecular cell biology, animal experiments and other fields, and has a professional team to ensure high-quality collection of patient specimens and meet the experimental requirements of multi-omics detection. Sample libraries and databases have been established, and patient information is complete. We closely cooperate with the team of Academician Gao Shaorong, College of Life Sciences, Tongji University.

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in medicine or a related field with the age below 35 years old. Successful applicants are expected to lead various experimental aspects including but not limited to having a certain bioinformatics foundation, research background in medicine, molecular biology, immunology, biology or bioinformatics. At least one research paper with an impact factor greater than 5 has been published in a SCI journal as first author or corresponding author. Basic Requirements:Specific projects will be discussed and decided based on the applicant's interests and project needs.
