Position Summary:

Reporting to the Student Recruitment Manager and under supervision of the McGill Summer Academy Associate.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaising with other employees working as part of McGill Summer Academy and related (non-credit) summer programing, to ensure efficiency and coordination.
  • As required, coordination and communication with Shad.
  • As required, advanced communication with Shad valley participants (as required), in coordination with the Program Director.
  • Help coordinate and proactively troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment for the program as problems arise.
  • Support the coordination of student arrivals – including greeting students and answering general inquiries in a timely manner and in a professional way.
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines and understand all emergency procedures associated with SHAD and know when to contact supervisor for help and support.
  • Monitor the physical environment to ensure the safety of students and report any issues with participants and/or facilities to camp administration.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

Undergraduate student preferably enrolled in Arts, Education, Engineering, Management, Music, Nursing or Science. Excellent organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills - must be outgoing, willing to engage and initiate conversations with students and their families. General knowledge of the downtown campus and student life is a requirement. Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.. Active involvement within the McGill student community (student clubs, athletics or other university activities), an asset. Customer service and social media experience, an asset. Additional languages (French, Spanish, Mandarin), an asset. Work study applicants must provide proof of program acceptance.
