Position Summary:


TA should attend classes and provide weekly office hours to students. Prior to each lab session, TA will be responsible for fully familiarizing with the lab topics covering visceral anatomy. TA will be required to work with large volumes of students to illustrate clinical and laboratory anatomy at an undergraduate level. TA will assist in the labs, implementation and grading of exams and assignments. TA, in liaison with the course instructor, is required to coordinate and assign duties to Undergraduate course assistants (UCAs). TA will be responsible for helping with the lab set up, retrieving specimens to present to assigned student groups, and upon lab completion, to return specimens to their assigned storage space as well as fully cleaning up the different stations area. TA will also be responsible of supporting the UCA team during teaching activities using teaching models, medical images, cadaveric images, prosection and other media; and to direct small teaching group during the lab sessions. TA is responsible for reinforcing the laboratory rules and code of conduct in the lab, to oversee all safety precautions regarding proper use of specimen preservative solutions.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to teach human anatomy. Must have previously taken ANAT 214 (or equivalent) Extensive knowledge of the gross anatomy of the visceral systems (head and neck, thoracic, abdominal and pelvic anatomy required) of the human body is required. Must be able to give in-depth lab demonstrations to students; emphasizes functional and clinical anatomy; must have a good understanding of surface anatomy; and know how to read medical imaging. Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising undergraduate students. Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective communication skills in English are essential.
